There was a strong wind all night. It's good because it's not as hot on the boat, but it's really noisy. Very happy to have been at the dock tonight.
It's not my best night, I wake up often but hey, I take the opportunity to write a little from 6 a.m. and so I see the sunrise from our bedroom window. I even hear a rooster crow around 6:30. I don't know if he's a boat crew member or if he's a resident of San Sebastián de La Gomera, I'll probably never know either!
Max and Andy are going to have a coffee next door while Louis wakes up, then we go to the restaurant where the guys had dinner yesterday, the Bar Ambigu. Superb service from the same waitress: Suzanne!
We then walk through the streets of the city to see the Parador at the top of the hill/cliff. The paradors are part of a state hotel structure created at the beginning of the 20th century to promote tourism in Spain. The journey is let's say a little demanding with all the hills and stairs, but it's worth it. The place is magnificent with its interior gardens and its swimming pool and the splendid views. Glad to have come. We can promote the place for future visitors to San Sebastián de La Gomera.
We then go to the boat to change and Andy and I go for a few minutes to cool off at the beach. The water is so good and fresh, it feels good. We then come back quickly, they finish their bag and we accompany them to the ferry where we say goodbye until next time. It was a great week with them. They've been great and come back when they want.
Louis and I return to the boat a little nostalgic that half of the group has left. We board the dinghy to go swimming at the beach. There are a bit of a waves. As we arrive at the beach, a lifeguard comes to see us to tell us that it is forbidden to come in a Zodiac, that we may just have an electric motor but that it can still be dangerous for swimmers and that Locals often call the police so it's ok this time but not afterwards. We move towards the water to at least rinse off while the lifeguard talks to another who has just arrived. We hear whistling, we look and it is the other rescuer who wants to talk to us. We have to leave immediately. So we board the dinghy and return to the boat. We understand their point, even if we look around and we go slower than a motorized zodiac, it could encourage others. So we walk to the beach afterwards because I'm really too hot.
We then go back to the same restaurant as this morning to re-order the salad that the guys brought us yesterday. Louis takes some very good croquettes, I will have to order some another time. Really great service from Suzanne at the Bar Ambigu restaurant.
We listen to Guardians of the Galaxy 3 tonight each on our bench in the sailboat. It's hot, but we can move so it's fine. Then, when it's time to go to sleep, the wind picks up and it's almost boiling hot. I swear! Oh the night is going to be pleasant!
