Maybe I drank a little too much yesterday. I had the impression that we were almost in a storm last night, I thought the boat was moving a lot. Well, in the end, I realized that it might have been in my head because Louis didn't understand when I asked him if he thought the boat had moved a lot that night. I woke up with a headache and super tired. We had to get up at 7 a.m. to be in time to pick up the Vespa. But eventually, we both decided we wanted to sleep longer.Even when I woke up, I didn't feel fit enough for a day on the Vespa, but if Louis wants to go, we'll go. I have a headache but not like a morning-after headache. So we put it on the back of the lack of sleep and food of the crossing and we decide to relax an extra day. So we'll do the "Vespa buissonnière" today! Tomorrow we will visit the island. We are working on the boat today. It's nice because we have so little opportunity to enjoy the boat since we left, that we have a day to pamper the sailboat. Louis is trying to get an extension cord working, but let's just say it doesn't work very well. We ended up finding a store that sells it but it’s closed from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. So we'll have to come back another day. We certainly won't wait here until 4:30 p.m.We visit a nearby park and discover a superb hotel at the bottom of the park. Very stylish! It's amazing inside. We will return to the islands this summer with our mothers and we can already imagine them at the hotel, despite not knowing the price of the rooms. It seems overpriced! You will have to inquire.
We then return to the street near the marina for dinner. We meet a little dog there. Adorable! He comes to see us, puts his little paws on us. We don't want to feed him because that wouldn't help him, but it's heartbreaking not to. He walks everywhere, he doesn't bark. We really have a crush. If only we had more time here, we would have thought of adopting him.
We then go to the boat to read (Louis) and take notes (me). Since we didn't run the engine today, we don't have hot water to wash up with the boat's shower. So we wash quickly with water from the garden hose that has been heated all day in the sun on the boat. So we both do it quickly to have enough hot water for both of us.
It's time to head back to Pier 19 for Vanessa's last night before her 2-day vacation. Once again, a delicious dinner, I had the fish carpaccio as an appetizer and a mushroom risotto with truffles. Delicious! Vanessa, our waitress, introduces us to a rum with honey from the Canary Islands. Delicious! Another great day in Gran Canaria. Tomorrow, we plan to discover the island. I even go to bed early to be fit!
