We are very relaxed this morning. I did not sleep well. We have lunch and I go to bed again to try to get some sleep. Meanwhile, Louis goes to the marina, then he goes grocery shopping. I get up after 90 min., without having slept, but rested. I pick up a little in the boat. I had put our dry clothes from yesterday in a corner (on Marie-Andrée's bed) so I put them away.
We relax. Louis returns to tackle a new task, because the new bathroom pump, to drain the water from the shower, does not work. He fixes it very quickly. He had left a filter to filter out hair and trash, but it was filled with my hair. So he threw it away. Lucky that the new pump was bought with my profuse hair loss in mind. He then checks the bilge pumps, we have two and cleans around them while I do the dishes.
A perfect day on the boat. Tasks and simple problems to solve. We then go to a small convenience store to ask if they have USB sockets for vehicles (the ones we put in the fire lighter socket of the car, remember?) because there is only one left on the boat and we don't want to take the risk of it breaking. Our mothers would not forgive us. The lady does not speak English, yet Louis tries “car plug cell phone”, she does not understand. I try with “telephono” it seems to work. And yes, she shows us 3 that we take right away for 14 euros total. You imagine. Sometimes, we think that we are being had in America.
We are going to have dinner in a Kebab restaurant where we barely understand but I remember that “pollo” is chicken, and she also says “meat” to us in English, so Louis tries to mix the meats and I take the chicken. Really pleasant with the wind and more.
Return to the boat to read about the islands, while Louis reads his book. I also take this opportunity to move forward with the website. Then Louis will make chili. An extraordinary chili. It's good! I would eat more but I tell myself that I will be even more looking forward to it tomorrow.
No meat in the chili. I have a little difficulty with ground meat in the islands, even in the Azores. I imagine they don't prepare it the same way. So, it was a sublime vegetarian chili.
We then relax and shower by hand with heated bowls of water. For your information, we have hot water, but only when the engine is running, then it's like camping, but we love it.
We're getting organized for tomorrow's departure to avoid seasickness:
Louis puts black plastic in the window so I can sleep better
We put the fan on to make a regular noise and focus less on other noises
We detach the boat a little to avoid the noise of the fenders on the quay
I take gravols before sleeping even though I find that it doesn't do anything to me besides making me zombie, but: captain's order.
We even prepare the goggles against seasickness that we bought, but have not tried yet:
We go to sleep early. All our procautions seem like a lot but if it keeps me from being sick they are well worth it. We are simply putting all the chances on our side so that I have good sailing tomorrow.
