The return is approaching so we have many tasks to accomplish, before leaving and we don't want the stress about doing everything at the last minute so today, we want to get started folding the genoa!
Have I already told you that the docks (those between the boats) are narrow? So no chance of us folding our sail on the dock! So I'm going to get a small cart, what am I saying, a mini cart to transport it.
Just trying to pick up the genoa and put it in the trolley without having it touch the water (because even in a heap it is wider than the small dock) is a challenge. We end up tying it over the cart to bring it to solid ground (stone and asphalt) and folding it. First go through the platform gate with patience before it opens because it's really not fast. Then place the sail on the ground, as quickly as possible to fold it because a sail of this size really takes up a lot of space. The recycling truck was nice enough (its driver 😉) and precise enough to pass right by our sail to empty the container. We must not be the only ones who fold their veil there.
That's enough about sails for today. It is so hot when there is no wind. We therefore jump into the water directly from the sailboat to swim to the beach and walk to the end and we return to the boat, again by water. A difficult life!
We dine on the boat, protected from the sun by towels attached to the “dodger” and we relax in PM. Then, because you have to be a little productive, Louis coiles some ropes and I remove mold from the wood in the cabin (Ah, mold in a boat!). We start sorting out the clothes to bring back or leave on the boat, because we won't need warm clothes for a long time (we still leave some here).
We tell ourselves that we have a great “spot” and that we are having a fantastic trip. It’s still good to realize all this while you live it. We are also happy to take the time to relax. Louis even took a nap while I was writing.
We have reservations at O Pescador for tonight. Restaurant a few minutes from the marina. You could see the bright lettering from the edge of the water. We said why not. Oh how well we did! Nice surprise once again!
Eating early (6:00 p.m.) in the Azores has its advantages. We have room in the dining room, we don't wait and we hear each other talk 😊
The hostess, who is the head of the dining room, but we do not know it yet, brings us to our table and we meet Marisa our waitress there. wow! A pearl! We love her and the restaurant instantly! She suggests fish tonight, even though she doesn't like fish herself: she prefers steak. So we go with her suggestion. We also decide to come back to eat before leaving and we want her to serve us again.
She humorously tells Louis that wearing a pale blue linen shirt to eat shrimp as a starter might not be the best option and she brings him a cloth napkin. She looks at me for permission and tucks the towel into Louis' shirt collar to protect his shirt. I am in a dark blue dress so everything is fine. Louis doesn't want to keep the napkin on his shirt and takes it off. The gesture was appreciated though! We eat the prawns! Oh they are excellent! My thumb slides over one of the heads to be removed which catapults the shrimp on Louis' pale blue linen shirt. A small stain, but still...

When Marisa comes back to the table, she sees the stain. Louis quickly tells her it's my fault. She says that with very hot water it should go away and she leaves to come back almost immediately with a wet towel. She looks at me again, as if to ask my permission, and she rubs the stain on Louis' shirt. She is adorable! And, thanks to her, Louis will be able to put his shirt back on again… spotless! He'll also remember to wear a darker top next time.
The fish and the choice of wine was simply divine! Really Marisa, you made our evening! Excellent food and service! !We must do this again!
We finished the evening watching a film on the tablet: Gray man. Which we very much liked!
Small attentions, small gestures, make the day so much more interesting. Thank you life for this beautiful day!
