For those who know us, you know how crazy the last few weeks have been! For those who know us less or not at all, well, I'll tell you, maybe one day! For now let's get back to the most important... my vacation ;)! I feel like I've been running a marathon for days. Today I finished early to take advantage of it and clean while no one was at home, the boys are working. There, I'm sitting on the couch and I have time to breathe. I think it's the first time in a very long while that I have taken the time to do it. I was asked yesterday if I miss Louis and I had to take a moment to answer. Yes, I miss him, but I didn't really have time to really think about it. I was more stressed and focused on everything that had to be done. There's still a lot to do, but I'm now in a “if I don't have time too bad” mindset.
I'm thinking of Louis! I can't wait to see my captain. And if I don't want to get on his nerves because I'm too stressed, I have to calm the North American in me and breathe. The Azores are coming soon and I have to put myself in vacation mode.
For the news from Louis, well imagine that yesterday morning at 8:15 for him (6:45 for Quebec) he had his legs in the sun, drinking his coffee. A magnificent day with strong winds of 21 knots and still the same tack.
3 p.m. for him:
Louis: Your boyfriend has lobster legs! Magical day with winds of 20 knots. Same tack as yesterday and the day before. I'm sailing at 7 knots and more with 3 reefs in the mainsail. It's 29 degrees in the boat and the water is warm. I make myself a sauce with tomatoes, onions, mushrooms, peppers and meat.
Me: What about sunscreen?
Louis: I put some on my face. I took a picture of my legs where you see blue (bruises), white, red. Vive la France!
Today:
No wind this morning.
Louis: Yesterday I finished my first water tank. This with showers every 2 days. It's good. Yesterday, or the day before yesterday, there was no ice left in the cooler. I put in one of the three ice bags from the electric cooler which are like new. Great. I even froze chili and pasta.
We wanted so badly for him not to run out of ice during his crossing. It"s a success!
He may see land tomorrow.
