A few days in a hurry!

So happy to be back on the boat. We find our home. Everything is ready, everything is functional and organized. So excited to wash up (after 7 days of dirty hair) and sleep in our boat bed. It's still positive to be looking forward to getting back to the boat, it would have been a shame if one of us wouldn't have been happy to find her.

We have seen so many beautiful, majestic landscapes over the past few days. It was extraordinary. Now we are taking advantage of a few days to reconnect with Soleau and do work on the boat.

We also went swimming on a small stretch of beach next to the marina. Not at all the ideal place since we entered the water with our sandals (a little abandoned piece of land filled with large rocks at the edge of the water), but it refreshed us.

We also take the opportunity to cook on the boat. It feels good to reclaim the boat completely. Go grocery shopping on foot, about 1.5 - 2km, come back with bags of ice for the ice box and cans, I love it! Well, that's a lot of weight in a backpack, especially for Louis bringing back the water bottles, but I like this side of life on the boat where you seem to be part of the place, where you have a little routine (and not always water to carry;))

Traveling to a new country, a new place, it's extraordinary, it's filled with magical moments and wonder. I also like to go back to the places seen because we have a different perspective. Since we have already seen a place, we no longer see it in the same way, in fact, we see more detail. We appropriate the place a little more in a way. This is what happened with Marie-Andrée when she came to see Tejeda with us in the middle of the mountains and valleys of Gran Canaria, this is what will happen with Max and Andrea for the beaches near Garachico. We also want to show them this place and enjoy it too. Well, enough philosophy, I continue my narration.

We were told that it was always windy in the summer in the Canary Islands. For 2 days, no wind. It's hot. We're working on the boat and we're a bit sticky. Louis on the boat, to clean the yellowed lifelines, to restore their white color, to clean the "stainless" and to give Soleau a makeover before the arrival of our friends. I am going to wash at the entrance to the Marina. It's a good walk with my bag: 10 minutes of brisk walking, so one washing session a day is enough. I take the opportunity to write the blog while I'm sitting there, without air conditioning. I just want to tell you: I love you!

3rd day: it's so windy today that there are "white caps" in the marina. I dried towels and sheets at the marina, but there were a lot of them so it didn't dry completely. As I had no more change for a second drying, and the walk would have been 20 minutes round trip for a few coins, I told myself that Soleau would do the trick. So I put everything on the clean lifelines and it dried quickly.

We also managed to find a car for tomorrow, an activity that was not easy. As the other companies no longer have vehicles available, there is one in a small souvenir shop. The lady is calling around for us. We managed to get the car for tonight, so we will be able to pick up Max and Andrea at the airport.

The car is delivered to us at the marina. Our friends' flight is delayed by 2 hours. So we decide to eat at Burger King on the road to eat quickly. No comment! So we order on touch boards and we wait for our burgers and we wait. There are 5 orders before us. We wait and wait. Well, I'll make it shorter than us… we're waiting a long time. 40 minutes! Our burgers have been there, on the shelf, for more than 20 minutes (maybe even 30). When we finally receive our onion rings. Let's just say that some people should change their job. Not everyone is good at every job. Luckily these are unbaked breads, maybe that's the reason actually.

Well, all that to say that it puts a little pressure on us to arrive in time for the landing of the plane. We arrive at the airport, Louis leaves me at the terminal and goes to park. I ask departing passengers what flight they were on: Dublin. It is also their flight. They tell me they're the first out. Phew! I did not miss them. A few minutes later, I see Andrea and Max appear! Yeah! After their 2 flights and their long connection, they are taken directly to their hotel. Lights dancing on the facade of the hotel! Welcome to a very touristic area in the south of Tenerife! Good sleep friends and see you tomorrow for a day of discovery!
